11 Dangerous food combinations that can be fatal

 


#1 Cyanide containing foods

Cherry seeds, apple seeds, cashews and even almonds seem to be dangerous food combinations. The seeds, bark, and leaves of the fruit plantations like cherries, plums, pears, cassava, peaches, apricots, and apples seem to contain the cyanide content. Eating them in large quantities may lead to kidney failure, high blood pressure, coma etc. Elder blueberries are often used in jams and jellies. The glycoside in these berries can cause nausea, stomach upset, intestinal problems. Elder blueberries should never be eaten raw or unripe.

Raw cashews contain urushiol chemical. Thus, cashews are steamed and dried to remove urushiol before retailing it. The raw bitter almonds should not be consumed as they are high in cyanide. Almonds are heated and processed to remove the toxins.

#2 Medication-based diet

If you are a person who follows a diet based on the medications or if you are on diet/supplementary pills, then such a medication based diet, when consumed with regular foods, may cause havoc to your immune system. Paxil is one such anti-depressing medication used by people who suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder, chronic anxiety disorder or trauma, panic disorder, stress disorder etc. Taking the Paxil with your diet may cause a lot of side effects such as nausea, insomnia, lethargy, drowsiness, and seizures. It also interferes within the human reproductive system both in men and women. Depending on the age women may have to face the menstrual or pregnancy or menopause problems. Other such medications are high blood pressure medicines, Flexeril, Elavil, Zoloft, Prozac etc. Hence, prefer to gain energy from a natural healthy diet rather be on medications.

#3 Caffeinated drinks

Since ages, caffeine has been an integral part of everybody’s life. It is obvious in today’s generation that anyone, who has a stressful life, is addicted to caffeine. It is very often consumed in the forms of Coffee and Tea, chocolates and cocoa-based items, energy drinks, colas or any other caffeinated drinks or food combos should be avoided as much as possible. Consuming more caffeine is linked to causing the high blood pressure, heart attacks at a young age, shortness of breath and breast related issues in women. Other common issues are Insomnia, headaches, blurred vision, indigestion, reduced fertility, anxiety, fatigue to name a few. Hence, it is medically recommended to consume caffeine only in moderation to low doses. Anything above the recommended levels could lead to more negative impacts on health than anticipated.

#4 Hot and Cold Foods together

Consuming hot and cold foods together such as a hot cup of soup with cold snack bites, or hot snack with cold coke etc., are the harmful food combinations as it tricks your tongue and brain. It also badly affects the stomach causing gastric problems or stomach ache.

#5 Raw meat and uncooked eggs

The raw red meat, meat or poultry and seafood and the raw eggs contain the harmful salmonella bacteria. These bacteria could be fatal if it enters the bloodstream. It attacks the human immune system and digestive system. Thus, avoid eating the raw eggs and raw meat. Cook well to avoid any possible damage to your health. Tuna fish absorbs mercury. This is one of the most dangerous food combinations to avoid as mercury is extremely harmful to human health. Mercury can damage respiratory functioning, affect brain or kidneys. So, be watchful when you consume the tuna fish for gaining its benefits.


#6 Tyramine based foods

Certain foods that have tyramine amino acids such as pickled meats of pork and poultry, aged alcoholic beverages, fermented cheeses and sausages like ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, pepperoni, summer sausage etc, should be avoided. These foods have the same impact as the caffeinated foods. As these foods are usually flavoring agents in the cooking recipes, consumption of these foods cannot be measured precisely. However, regulate its consumption by adding it to your cuisines on weekly basis. Large dietary intake can increase the release of noradrenaline and cause the vasoconstriction, migraines, and headaches.

#7 Peanuts

Peanuts are significantly high in its fat content. On the contrary, these are also the nuts that are known for causing allergies, especially in babies. These allergies could be itching, sneezing, stomach cramps, nausea, choking or impaired breathing, fainting, dizziness, skin changes such as paleness, rashes, redness or swelling etc. Children with a peanut allergy must avoid consuming all forms of peanuts. Anaphylaxis in peanuts leads to shock, shrinking of the air pathways, and causes loss of consciousness.

#8 Tomato and potato greens

Green potatoes, green tomatoes along with their stem and leaves are natural toxins as they contain alkali poisons such as glyconoids, solanines etc. These alkaloids are natural fungicides and pesticides that act as defensive agents in the plants. Though we tend to consume green potatoes and tomatoes by chance, this doesn’t seem to be quite risky except to build the stomach upset. However, consuming it more often or in a huge amount develop neurological disorders and may prove to be fatal.

#9 Saturated Fats

Saturated fats are found in the processed meats, chicken skin, and dairy products. Consuming high amounts of saturated fats on a regular basis can cause paralysis to the brain’s essential functions like cognitive and memory functions.


#10 Trans-fatty acids

These are found in processed foods, bakery products, refined oils, snacking items like potato chips and candies. Regular consumption of foods such as refined sugars, hydrogenated products, and fatty acids can increase LDL cholesterol, dementia, vision defects, reduced brain functioning, heart disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

#11 Sugars and syrups

Refined sugars and syrups break down the metabolic activity of the human body. These sugars and syrups sweeten the foods and can be found in baby foods, soft drinks, syrup and sauce condiments. The food additives such as MSG are the flavor enhancers that can be found in canned soups and meats, junk foods, snacking bites like chips and crackers. They spike up the blood sugar levels, impair the cognitive functioning of the brain, hamper the memory, slows down the learning process and retards the natural growth. Thus, any product which is high in sweeteners and has the food additives or preservatives adds to the list of the food combinations to avoid.


Though all the foods that we eat are nutritious, they all also have ignorable amounts of toxin content. Food toxins are ingested into the human body only if the food consumption goes beyond the recommended levels. Otherwise, almost all regular healthy foods are safe to eat. Take up the precautionary steps to wash the fruits and veggies well, before cooking it. Clean it well to remove the pesticides. Following a proper method of cooking is also important. Also, enlighten yourself by following a good practice of spending the time to gather knowledge about the pros and cons of the foods that you consume regularly. Also, check the products nutritional value when you purchase them. Strictly avoid purchasing any food combos that contains one of the aforesaid dangerous food combinations.
